BOCA RATON, Fla., June 10, 2025 /BUSINESS WIRE/ --

Integrated Dermatology, the country’s largest independent dermatology provider, is pleased to welcome Amanda Derwae, MD, FAAD, to the team of expert dermatologists at Integrated Dermatology of Fairfax in Virginia. Dr. Derwae, who is now accepting new patients, is a board-certified dermatologist with an impressive career spanning both military and civilian medicine.

Dr. Derwae brings a unique blend of clinical experience and leadership, having served as a flight surgeon and dermatology element chief during her career in the U.S. Air Force. She provided medical care and training for elite rescue squadrons and led dermatology services at a major military medical center. After completing her military service, Dr. Derwae and her family relocated to Northern Virginia, where she now focuses on providing dermatologic care to the DMV area.

With deep ties to the military, Dr. Derwae is proud to serve veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. A native of West Virginia, Dr. Derwae earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, where she was honored as the Air Force ROTC Distinguished Graduate in 2003. She completed her medical education at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, followed by a transitional internship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC). Dr. Derwae completed her dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019, where she also received specialized training in global health, focusing on addressing health disparities and delivering care in diverse and resource-limited settings worldwide.

Her honors include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the 2012 Association of Military Surgeons of the United States award for outstanding academic and leadership performance, and the John H. Gillespie Outstanding Intern Award from SAUSHEC in 2013. These awards reflect her dedication to excellence in both academics and leadership throughout her medical career.

“We’re proud to welcome Dr. Derwae to Integrated Dermatology of Fairfax,” said Dr. Satoskar, medical director of the practice. “Her extensive military background and clinical expertise, combined with her commitment to compassionate patient care, make her an invaluable addition to our team and the Fairfax community.”
